Background of IIDFC Securities Limited
Until January 05, 2011 IIDFC Securities Limited (ISL) was a division of Industrial and Infrastructure Development Finance Company (IIDFC) Limited. IIDFC Limited is one of the leading financial institutions of the country licensed under Bangladesh Bank. The Company purchased a Membership of Dhaka Stock Exchange Limited (DSE) in July 2008. Subsequently, it obtained Stock-Broker and Stock-Dealer license on 20 April 2009 and got the full service Depository Participant license on 18 May 2009 from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Capital Market Regulator of Bangladesh. Thereafter, IIDFC Limited started its stock broking activities through its Brokerage Services Division from May 21, 2009.
In compliance with the Securities and Exchange Commission circular no. SEC/Reg/CSE/MB/2009/444 dated December 20, 2009 ISL obtained permission to act a fully owned subsidiary of IIDFC Ltd on March 28, 2010 under Company Act, 1994 to carry out Stock broker & Stock Dealer activities. The assets and liabilities were transferred from IIDFC Limited to IIDFC Securities Limited on January 05, 2011.
